Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is on unannounced visit to the Netherlands on Thursday to meet with officials from the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Dutch government.

According to Dutch news agency ANP, Zelensky arrived at around 09:00 at the Dutch Senate building in The Hague. He was greeted by the President of the Upper House, Jan Anthonie Bruijn, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Vera Bergkamp.

“We’re in The Hague, we’re going to meet with the officials of the International Criminal Court there,” Sergei Nykyforov, spokesperson for the Ukrainian leader, told AFP.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to arrive at the ICC in The Hague on Thursday morning, according to a court spokesperson. The court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin in March

Zelenskyy is expected to first deliver a speech at the ICC in the morning, and will then deliver a second one entitled “No peace without justice for Ukraine” in the presence of Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra, according to public broadcaster NOS.

A meeting with Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Defence Minister Kajsa Ollongren is also planned, Dutch news agency ANP said. The Dutch government has confirmed the president’s visit.

Zelenskyy, who is making his first official visit to the Netherlands, landed at Amsterdam-Schiphol airport on Wednesday evening after attending a Nordic summit in Helsinki, ANP reported.
