New Russian drone attacks on the city of Izium in eastern Ukraine have claimed at least one life and injured three others, according to Ukrainian civil protection.

The attacks caused material damage in the Kyiv region and the port city of Odesa. Ukraine also carried out drone attacks, which resulted in three injuries.

Ukraine’s air defence reported 90 drone attacks across various regions from Saturday night into Sunday. More than half of the drones were shot down, with the Kharkiv region, where Izium is located, being heavily targeted.

Moscow’s Defence Ministry claimed it shot down 31 Ukrainian drones. Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Belgorod, stated that a drone struck a house in Gubkin, injuring a woman and her 7-year-old child. Another woman was injured in the village of Dolgoe.

These claims from both sides cannot be independently verified. Russia invaded its neighbouring country over three years ago.
