A fire at an artillery ammunition depot east of Moscow on Tuesday caused a series of explosions, although no injuries were reported.

The fire resulted from safety regulation violations in handling explosives, Russian news agencies reported, quoting the Russian Ministry of Defence.

The governor of Vladimir Region confirmed the explosions and cautioned against sharing images or videos, noting on his Telegram channel that doing so is illegal.

Two villages near to the scene of the explosions were evacuated as a precaution.

The depot, located near the city of Kirzhach, is one of the largest for the Russian armed forces. It is situated over 500 kms from the Ukrainian border.
