Flemish Minister-President Matthias Diependaele announced in parliament on Tuesday that he intends to create a Flemish Centre for Digital Security.
The aim of the new body will be to ensure online safety for Flemish regional and local administrations, and address disinformation and the risk of foreign interference.
The centre will be the Flemish counterpart to the Centre for Cyber Security Belgium (CCB), the national authority that oversees and coordinates the implementation of Belgium’s cybersecurity strategy.
It will focus on both preventing and responding to incidents.
