A demonstration of Ukrainian refugees and supporters took place in Ghent on Saturday.
About 100 people began their march at 14:00 from Sint-Baafsplein in the city centre. The event marked the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Organisers aimed to draw attention to the situation in Ukraine, demanding the withdrawal of Russian troops, cancellation of Ukraine’s foreign debt, and seizure of Russian assets.
The demonstration was supported by several organisations, including Peace for Ukraine – Ghent, Heart4Ukraine, and the European Network for Solidarity with Ukraine.
The march proceeded without incident.
