Divers from the fire department of the East Limburg area extracted the body of a man from the Albert Canal on Sunday morning, near Vroenhoven (Riemst).

The Bilzen-Riemst-Hoeselt police went around arrived at the scene at 11:00 to carry out the search efforts. An investigation has been opened by the Limburg prosecutor’s office.

A medical autopsy will be carried out on Monday with the results hoped to shed some light on the cause of death.
