On Sunday evening Belgium's Red Devils were beaten 1-0 by their Dutch rivals in Amsterdam, meaning that they failed to qualify for the Final Four of the UEFA Nations League.
Even before arriving in the Dutch capital, Belgium's national team were acutely aware of the game plan: beat the Oranje by at least three goals or miss out on the Final Four of the Nations League.
In the end, the Red Devils came off worse after a header by the Netherland's star defender Virgil Van Dijk put them at a 1-0 deficit that they failed to claw back. It was the first time the team had lost without scoring a goal since their World Cup semi-final loss to France in 2018.
