Colruyt is exploring strategic options for its retail operations in France, including Colruyt Prix Qualité stores and DATS 24 petrol stations.
Facing intense competition in the French food distribution sector, Colruyt has struggled to make its stores profitable.
In a statement on Tuesday, the company revealed that its board has asked for an examination of various strategic options, such as a revival plan or divestment. Colruyt Group noted that it has received expressions of interest in the latter case.
However, the company has clarified that no decisions have been made, and there is no guarantee that a transaction will occur.
Colruyt Group also emphasised its commitment to preserving operational continuity and employment as much as possible.
