Seven minors have been arrested in an investigation into a heavy fight between underage girls in the East Flanders town of Beveren. Videos posted on social media drew much attention and were then reported to the East Flanders Public Prosecutor's Office.
The local Waasland-Noord police and the public prosecutor had launched an investigation into the brawl, which allegedly took place in Beveren's Grote Markt on Monday.
Two of those involved will be brought before the juvenile court in Antwerp.
Footage showed several girls fighting with each other, leaving one underage girl injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to the investigation, those involved are aged between 14 and 16 years old and attending school in Beveren.
Police were able to identify several individuals and eventually seven minors were arrested. Three are from Antwerp and four from East Flanders.

The four East Flanders youths were questioned. They were allowed to go for the time being but they will be followed up by the youth police. Of the three Antwerp youths, two were arraigned at the juvenile court in Antwerp.
It is not yet known what measure will be imposed on them.
