In 2022, 17,592 new hi-speed electric bikes were sold in Belgium, an increase of 42.1% compared to the previous year, according to the mobility federation Traxio.
Sales of new speed pedelecs also broke records, month after month and even in December (+73%), a month that is not usually conducive to sales of this type of bicycle.
The second-hand market for hi-speed electric bikes is also in good shape, with 5,671 registrations last year, an increase of almost 88% compared to 2021.
