For the first time this year, more than 90% of trains arrived on time in July, according to the data from Infrabel, Belgium's rail network operator.
Less than one train in 10 was six minutes late for its final destination on the Brussels North-Midi route. Fewer trains were also cancelled.
Punctuality remained lower than in 2022 throughout the year, although the gap has now narrowed.
In July 2022, 91.7% of trains ran on time. This year, the figure was 91.1% for the same month.
In July, eight incidents caused delays of more than 1,000 minutes.
Faulty trains were involved in half of these incidents, while the rest were due to damage to railway equipment. In Welle, this resulted in 74 cancelled trains and a total of 3,248 minutes of delay.
