Digital content creator Céline Dept has become the first Belgian to reach 10 million subscribers on video platform YouTube, the company said on Monday.
23-year-old Céline Dept has been producing content on the internet for several years and is best known to young audiences in Flanders thanks to her channel CEMI, powered by Michiel Callebaut. She also has her own channel with football videos and has attracted millions of TikTok followers.
The YouTube channel @CelineDept has only been around since May, but it quickly became popular over the summer. Dept has notably made videos with football star Gareth Bale and met Neymar as well as Erling Haaland. One of the channel's videos has reached 370 million views.
The young Belgian has also opened an online shop with Michiel Callebaut to sell her own clothing line. They have entered into commercial partnerships with the Torfs shoe chain, among others.
This success is reflected in the annual accounts of their company CDMC works. Last year, it posted a net profit of €170,000, 37% up on the previous year.
