Customs officials intercepted a 7.5-tonne cocaine shipment at Antwerp Port on Friday, according to the Federal Public Service for Finance.
The drugs, concealed within a banana cargo, were transported by a ship from Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Nine people hiding in a nearby container, including two minors, were held.
The Federal Judicial Police in Antwerp have launched an investigation to see if there is a link between the narcotics and the persons detained.
