A 24-hour strike will disrupt operations at Charleroi Airport on Thursday, according to management.
The airport’s operational capacity will be reduced as a precautionary measure, with some flights also set to be cancelled. Consumers affected by the cancellations will be informed by their respective airlines.
"We advise passengers, whose flights are still scheduled, to check their flight status on their airline’s website before heading to the airport," said Brussels South Charleroi Airport (BSCA). They also encouraged passengers to only travel with hand luggage as they cannot guarantee the handling of checked baggage.
Workers’ unions had issued a strike notice on 4 September scheduled. The action includes the majority of operational roles such as baggage, check-in, and plane refuelling.
The management, however, cannot predict the possible impact of the strike. The workers’ unions could not be reached for immediate comment.
