Versluys Groep, based in West Flanders, has commenced construction of a new residential tower on Antwerp’s Eilandje district.

Named the Twist Tower, the building aims to become an "icon on the Antwerp skyline," as stated on Friday. The tower will feature 23 floors, 90 apartments, two penthouses, and a swimming pool.

Situated at the marina of Kempisch Dok, the Twist Tower is near the Ziekenhuis aan de Stroom (ZAS) hospital and Park Spoor Noord.

A building permit was issued some time ago. Former real estate branch of Belgian Railways, Eurostation, reportedly sold the land to Antwerp property developer Immpact and Versluys Groep.

Versluys Groep is renowned for its coastal construction projects. CEO Bart Versluys, also known as the ‘Emperor of the Coast,’ is embarking on his first project in Antwerp.

"We have long been looking forward to extending our reach to a vibrant city like Antwerp," Versluys said.

"We are convinced that Twist Tower will make a bold statement at this unique location and add value to both the community and the city."
