Spadel, the company behind brands such as Spa and Bru, saw its sales of bottled drinks top the one-billion-litre mark last year, for the first time ever, resulting in an increase of more than 9% compared to 2023.

Turnover grew by 9.7%, amounting to € 379 million, while operational profit surged by 42% to € 48.7 million. Net profit reached €41 million, a 45% increase.

“Our brands experienced growth in 2024 across all markets where we operate,” said CEO Marc du Bois. “In many instances, our brands gained market share and strengthened their leadership.”

He highlighted that this exceptional result was even achieved without heatwaves in Benelux and France, the group’s core markets.

Du Bois attributed Spadel’s success to innovations such as Carola’s flavoured sparkling water and Spa Touch Mocktails, which meet customers’ evolving needs.

Spadel aims to build on the success of 2024, according to du Bois. The company plans to invest in a new production line and storage facility at its Bulgarian site, Devin, and in new flavours of flavoured sparkling water from Spa and Carola.

The energy drinks Zyla and Spa Fountain, which target the office market, are set to ramp up production further.

A gross dividend of €3.20 has been proposed for shareholders. That’s 45.5% higher than last year’s dividend.
