Audi, the German automobile manufacturer, is hiring a recruiter to attract candidates for the conversion of its Forest plant.
Audi Brussels has set up a task force including company representatives and officials, according to a spokesperson. "Various scenarios are being explored for the future of the site," said Peter D'hoore.
The task force includes CEO of Audi Brussels Thomas Bogus, members of the Prime Minister Bart De Wever's cabinet, Vice Prime Minister and Employment Minister David Clarinval, Brussels Minister-President Rudi Vervoort, and Forest Mayor Charles Spapens.
A preliminary meeting took place on Friday. The group will define general conditions for the site's future use, evaluate proposed concepts, and make an initial selection. The final decision will be made by the German company.
"The entire process, from candidate approach to final contract signing, will take several months and will depend on market interest," noted D'hoore. "We will provide more information once the plans are sufficiently developed."
