A Brussels firefighter ladder truck collided with a private car in an accident on Saturday in Ganshoren.
The emergency vehicle ended up in a nearby hedge, the Brussels fire brigade reported on Saturday afternoon. Drivers and passengers, who sustained minor injuries, were taken to the hospital.
The collision occurred at around 11:30 at the intersection of Avenue de l’Exposition Universelle and Drève de Rivieren, according to fire brigade spokesperson Walter Derieuw. “The emergency vehicle was heading to a fire in Ganshoren,” Derieuw stated.
The two people in the car and the two firefighters in the ladder truck all suffered minor injuries. They were all transported to the hospital.
“The service vehicle was operating with its siren and lights on,” Derieuw added. “The circumstances of the accident are now under routine police investigation,” he concluded.
