Torrential rains struck Kinshasa on Friday night and continued into Saturday, causing deadly floods and landslides.
Local media reported that in Ngaliema, near the Congolese capital, two people died when a wall collapsed, according to Radio Okapi.
The Ndjili River, which separates the communes of Limete and Matete from the Tshangu district, overflowed, flooding several streets. Many families were forced to evacuate their homes, and armed bandits took advantage of the chaos to rob several residences.
No official figures have been released yet, but according to information from Actualité.CD news website, at least 1o people have died and around a hundred are now homeless due to the severe weather.
