An explosive device was thrown towards a residence in the Merksem district of Antwerp on Sunday night, the local police confirmed to Belga.
The incident occurred at around 02:10. Two people were taken to hospital after inhaling smoke fumes.
The police could not specify the extent of the damage.
An expert laboratory and bomb disposal services were dispatched to the site.
An investigation has been opened.
