The runway at Charleroi Airport (BSCA) reopened on Tuesday afternoon after being closed for just over an hour.

A spokesperson for the airport confirmed that an incident involving a training aircraft had required the temporary closure.

The cause and nature of the incident were not disclosed, but the spokesperson stated that there were no injuries.

The closure disrupted airport operations, leading to the diversion of five incoming flights to Brussels, Liège, and Lille airports.

Several departing flights were also delayed as a result.

The runway was reopened after the aircraft was removed and the runway inspected.
