Unizo has expressed its satisfaction with the Easter Accord reached by the federal government on Saturday.
Frank Socquet, deputy director of Unizo’s research service, praised the historic limitation of unemployment duration.
The De Wever government agreed on the implementation of several reforms just before midnight. According to Unizo, the measures in the Easter Accord will positively impact the labour market and support SMEs and the self-employed.
Socquet highlighted the significance of limiting unemployment duration from 1 January 2026. He also welcomed the reduction of employer contributions and the elimination of automatic fines for tax filing errors.
Socquet lauded the Arizona government for tackling key issues quickly and showing decisive action. “Our initial reading is positive, but we will now analyse the texts in further detail,” he added.
