The National Syndicate of Police and Security Personnel (NSPV) and the trade union VSOA Police have jointly filed a strike notice from 00:01 on Saturday 26 April until 23:59 on Monday 5 May.
The strike affects the staff of the Federal Police, particularly those within the DGA/DAB services (Security Directorate and the General Directorate of Administrative Police).
"The reason for this action is the recent media statements by Interior Minister Bernard Quintin (MR). He announced, without prior social consultation, that the military will once again take over the static security of nuclear power plants from the police. This communication has understandably caused significant unrest within the affected units," according to the statement.
"With this notice, we demand clarity about the exact scope and timing of the protocol with Defence, as well as guarantees regarding social measures for the affected personnel," the unions added.
