US President Donald Trump has mentioned the possibility of meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the Pope’s funeral in Italy on Saturday.
“It is possible,” Trump, who is travelling to Italy with his wife, Melania, stated as he boarded a helicopter heading to the airport. The US President added that he plans to speak with various heads of state.
In late February, a discussion between Trump, Zelenskyy, and US Vice President JD Vance ended in a public confrontation.
Former US President Joe Biden is also expected to attend the Pope’s funeral ceremony.
