The cost of energy, purchasing power and the economic situation are the three main concerns of Belgians, with the environment in fourth place, according to a study carried out by the magazine ‘Imagine, Demain le monde’ and reported by RTBF.
The bimonthly magazine, which deals with social and environmental issues, collaborated with the research company Dedicated to question more than 2,000 Belgians, aged 18 years and older, on their main societal concerns.
The energy crisis, the costs associated with it, the impact of the crisis on purchasing power and the deterioration of the economic situation are the greatest concerns of those Belgians surveyed.

According to the respondents, the crisis is caused primarily by the lobbying power exerted by the big energy companies to maintain their situation, and a lack of anticipation by the Belgian and European public authorities to diversify the energy mix.
For nearly half of respondents, the increase in energy prices is a problem that will continue and is an issue that many feel should be the focus of action and activism.
