The body of a woman was found in the Meuse river in Seraing, in the province of Liège, on Wednesday evening, the Liège Fire Brigade announced.
The corpse was discovered at around 17:45 floating in the river, near the Quai Louva in Seraing.
Despite a strong current, Federal Police divers and the fire brigade succeeded in retrieving the corpse in less than an hour.

The body has yet to be identified by police. An investigation has been launched into the discovery of the woman’s corpse and the prosecutor’s office has been notified of the incident.
