A crisis meeting to find a rehousing solution following a fire in a reception centre on the Chaussée de Louvain was held on Saturday, the acting mayor of Schaerbeek told Belga, confirming a report by RTBF.
The office of Mayor Cecile Jodogne, representatives of the citizens' platform and the Brussels-Capital Region met in response to the fire that occurred in a reception centre of the citizens' platform for asylum seekers in the Chaussée de Louvain on Friday night.
The various parties gathered in the office of the mayor to find a solution and rehouse around 200 people who were registered at the centre, although there has been no breakthrough yet.
Even if a rehousing solution has not yet been found with the Region, "I am confident that we will find a solution" says Mayor Cécile Jodogne.
Jodogne also confirmed that the municipality of Schaerbeek does not have the capacity to rehouse so many people.

For the moment, they have been temporarily rehoused in the sports complex of the municipal stadium of Schaerbeek. They spent Friday night there, and are likely to stay there for Saturday and Sunday night as well, according to the mayor.
However, the premises must be evacuated before Tuesday morning, before the return of the regular users of the sporting complex.
