The DJ Lost Frequencies is the first Belgian artist to reach more than a billion Spotify streams on one song: his hit Where Are You Now has been listened to more than 1,003,000,000 times.

The Brussels DJ, whose real name is Felix De Laet (29), was the first Belgian to score a number 1 hit in the United Kingdom in 2014 with his song Are You With Me. He was also the first Belgian solo artist in the top 50 from Spotify Global – the list of most streamed artists worldwide.

"I am incredibly grateful for the love and support of my fans around the world," Lost Frequencies said on his social media channels. "It is an honour to see my music reach such a large audience on Spotify. This is a testament to the power of music to bring people together."

During the Covid-19 pandemic, De Laet also live-streamed a set from the rooftop of the Royal Palace in Brussels on Belgium's National Day.

On Friday, he will release the new single 'Dive,' a collaboration with English singer-songwriter Tom Gregory.
