Two people have been were injured in a Brussels shooting late that took place Saturday night in Schaerbeek, according to a spokesperson for North Brussels Police Zone.
“At around 12:30 am, we were called to reports of gunshots heard on Place Lehon in Schaerbeek,” explained the police.
The emergency services found a man lying on the ground in the square. He had sustained gunshot wounds. A second victim was found a short time later on rue de Potter.
“One victim’s life is in danger,” the North Brussels Police Zone said.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear at this stage. Further statements regarding the incident are expected to be made by the prosecutor’s office later today.
