On Facebook Marketplace, the social networking site's online sales platform, a metro by Brussels public transport company STIB has falsely been up for sale for €300,000 for five weeks.
The metro offered on Facebook is of type M7, but the price is completely unrealistic, La Dernière Heure reports.
"A metro costs more than €7-8 million," STIB spokeswoman Cindy Arents told the newspaper, stressing that the transport company cannot simply do without a metro. "We do, in fact, need them all."
She said that she shopes no one will take the ad at face value. "It is clearly a joke. I do not understand why people would believe that."
For now, STIB has no plans to take action against the Facebook post.
