Belgian police and German authorities raided the headquarters of the European People’s Party (EPP) in Brussels on Tuesday as part of an investigation into financial irregularities.
The office's first and third floors were raided in Brussels with multiple computers having been reportedly seized, EURACTIV reports.
The raids are linked to an ongoing inquiry into the German centre-right party CDU's former parliamentary leader Mario Voigt's financial irregularities in the state of Thuringia, according to German public broadcaster MDR.

They released a statement on Tuesday afternoon and confirmed the information stating that "the party is cooperating in full transparency" and will provide "all relevant documentation."
The party also stated that it will not be providing any further comments.
The EPP is the largest political grouping in the European Parliament and aims to reunite all the centre-right forces of the EU27 Member States.
