This weekend, the Brussels-Capital Region will be celebrating its 35th anniversary during the Iris Festival on 4 and 5 May, with a "well-filled, varied and surprising programme."
Three Brussels municipalities (Evere, Schaerbeek and Saint-Josse-ten-Noode) will be in the spotlight this year, with guided tours of various emblematic or original places and buildings in the three municipalities, as well as original events organised on Saturday.
On Saturday, Brussels DJs will be playing on Place Poelaert at the Play Label Open Air. That same evening, the Place des Palais will be transformed into a dance floor from 19:00 to 00:30 for Iris Tipik Electro Night, featuring Ofenbach, Trinix, Alex Germys and Emjie and Raql.
Le Parc en Fête
On Sunday, the Parc de Bruxelles will be hosting a variety of activities and seven themed villages for 'Le Parc en Fête'. Some of these villages will offer visitors the chance to discover culture in its various forms, while others will provide information on Brussels' institutions and public services, as well as on cultural, educational and charitable projects in the capital.
A number of street artists, including Zizanie, HH Producties, Cirque plein d'air, Sokar and Ganesha Events, will also be performing in the park on Sunday.
On the same day, the Brussels Parliament and Palais de Justice will be opening their doors to the curious. The Brussels Bar at Place Poelaert will also open its doors to the public between 11:00 and 17:00, offering visitors a full immersion in the world of justice through a wide range of activities.
"The public will have the opportunity to attend mock trials, take part in 'pleadings', negotiation games and even meet the President of the Bar, discover the inner workings of the Bar and gain a better understanding of the legal profession and its role," the press release stated.
