The federal government approved on Friday the doubling of the rate and maximum amount of the tax credit for self-employed individuals who increase their equity, reported Minister Eléonore Simonet on Saturday.
When they increase their equity, self-employed entrepreneurs can benefit from a tax credit deducted from personal income tax, with any remaining balance being refundable.
This tax credit is calculated based on the increase in equity compared to the highest amount at the end of one of the three preceding taxable periods.
With the federal government’s decision, a self-employed individual who increases their equity can benefit from this year onwards from a tax credit equivalent to 20% of the increase (up from 10%) and capped at €7,500 (instead of €3,750).
This measure aims to provide relief to these workers, explained Eléonore Simonet, Minister of the Middle Classes, Self-Employed, and SMEs. She stated, “Self-employed individuals play a crucial role in our economy. They take risks, create value, and drive local employment.”
