A café on Place de Bethléem, in the Brussels neighbourhood of Saint-Gilles, came under gunfire on the night of Saturday to Sunday, the Brussels public prosecutor’s office disclosed on Monday, confirming information from several media. No-one was injured.
The public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into the incident, but no suspects have so far been apprehended.
“The Office of the Public Prosecutor has ordered several investigative tasks, including the analysis of surveillance cameras. A ballistics expert was also appointed and went to the scene,” the prosecutor’s office said.
It declined to comment on the possible motives of the perpetrators of the attack.
