Brussels is, by nature, one of the most international and vibrant cities on the continent. It is with this strong international community in mind that the University of Kent, with its headquarters in Canterbury (UK), decided to open a Postgraduate Centre here over 20 years ago, and has since welcomed a wide range of students from around the world.
The Brussels Centre offers Master and PhD programs with a focus on International Law and Politics. Courses feature in-depth analyses of contemporary issues, including conflict and security, development, migration, the political economy, the climate and environmental crises, and the legal basis of a changing world order.
The International Law and Human Rights Law programs are an integral part of the University of Kent, whose Law School was ranked 2nd in the UK in 2022.
The programmes offered at BSIS are based on an interdisciplinary model, enabling students to engage with two areas of study (a major and a minor), mixing Law and Politics modules. Moreover, with the option to enrol in Autumn or Spring, as well as full-time and part-time modes of study, their programmes allow for better scheduling flexibility.
In addition to their high academic standing, given the expertise gained from over 20 years in the city, networking activities and a tailored career service are part of their offer as well.
