Several powerful explosions were heard in Kyiv on Saturday morning, reported the French news agency AFP.
Ukrainian officials said the attacks targeted key infrastructure in the capital. with no injuries reported. "A missile attack on key infrastructure is underway in Kyiv," Ukrainian presidential adviser Kyrylo Timoshenko said on Telegram.
Kyiv residents heard the sound of four explosions in the centre of the city on Saturday morning. The head of the Kyiv region, Oleksiy Kuleba, said that 18 houses were damaged and a fire was contained at a critical infrastructure facility.
The city’s mayor Vitali Klitschko reported explosions in the Dniprovskiy neighbourhood and called on residents to "stay in shelters."
Attacks on other cities
Earlier on Saturday morning, two S-300 missiles targeted energy infrastructure in the Industrial district of the city of Kharkiv, which was liberated by Ukraine from Russian occupation in September.

Loud explosions were also heard in Russian-occupied Melitopol in Ukraine's southeastern Zaporizhzhia Oblast early on Saturday morning, Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said.
Air raid alerts have also been sounded for Cherkasy, Poltava, Sumy and Chernihiv region. The governor of the central Cherkasy region warned Ukrainians that Russia could launch a massive missile strike later on Saturday.
