British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has reportedly agreed to deliver tanks to Ukraine to help the country regain territory lost to Russian forces, report various British media outlets.
While the United Kingdom has not officially confirmed the number of British Army Challenger 2 tanks that it will send to Ukraine, initial reports suggest four will be provided immediately, with eight more to follow soon – bringing the total to 12.
Zelenskyy responded to the news by thanking the British Prime Minister for the "decisions that will not only strengthen us on the battlefield but also send the right signal to other partners."

A Downing Street source also said the Prime Minister had been clear that the UK must meet its commitments to Ukraine, “and that includes ensuring that the country has the crucial equipment to defend itself and make a difference on the battlefield”.
The delivery by the UK Government would make it the first Western power to supply battle tanks to Ukraine.
Earlier this week, Western officials warned that Ukraine would not be able to retake territory conquered by Russia without a boost in combat power, including tanks and armour. But there are concerns within NATO that the delivery of tanks will be seen by Moscow as an escalation of the conflict. (Belga)
