During his brief visit to Brussels on Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also met Belgian King Philippe and gave him a fragment of a Russian SU25 plane that was taken down in Ukraine.
On the plane fragment, the words "together we win" were written by Ukrainian pilots, the Palace reported on Twitter on Thursday evening. Zelenskyy was received at the Royal Palace by King Philippe and Prime Minister Alexander De Croo.
It was the only bilateral meeting between Belgium and Ukraine, as Zelenskyy's other meetings in Brussels were all focused on the European Union. For King Philippe, the meeting was an opportunity to ask Zelenskyy about the situation in Ukraine and express Belgium's support.
