The residents of the Brussels municipality of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode will be able to choose from five lists and 132 candidates for the new elections on Sunday 9 February.

Those who voted in Saint-Josse on 16 October 2024 will be obliged to do so again on Sunday 9 February 2025; the October election results were declared invalid in that municipality after "irregularities" with proxy votes (where voters assign their vote to someone else when they cannot vote) were discovered.

Now, the Brussels regional administration office has approved all the lists for the new elections. Compared to the municipal elections in October, some of the candidates on the lists differ.

Just like in October, the lists will be:

- Engagés-cd&v-MR-VLD

- ECOLO-GROEN

- PS : Parti Socialiste

- TEAM FOUAD AHIDAR

- List du Bourgmestre (LB)

However, Team Fouad Ahidar's list now counts 16 candidates, instead of 11 previously. The other four lists all have 29 candidates.

In October, the elections in Saint-Josse were won with an absolute majority by sitting mayor Emir Kir's Liste du Bourgmestre with 50.5% of the vote. It was among the largest vote-share increases in the country, but issues were raised about possible fraud.

More information about the new lists can be found on the regional election website.
