A man was injured in a suspected stabbing incident on Friday morning in the Atheneum district of Antwerp, according to local police.
The alleged victim, a 53-year-old man, approached a passer-by while showing a stab wound, but the exact events leading up to the incident remain unclear. The man was taken to hospital.
Police have launched an investigation and established a perimeter for evidence collection. A 45-year-old man has been detained as a suspect. The incident may have occurred during an argument in a nearby residence.
On Thursday, a separate stabbing incident occurred near the Sportpaleis in Antwerp, resulting in the death of a 52-year-old man. A suspect has also been apprehended in that case.
