On Tuesday, 25 March, 7 out of 10 IC trains and 2 out of 3 L- and suburban S-trains will be operating. Only 1 in 5 P-trains will run. Belgian railway company NMBS announced this on Sunday.

Due to a strike by the independent railway union Metisp-Protect, an alternative train service has been arranged based on the staff who indicate they will work.

Tomorrow, Monday, 24 March, 2 out of 3 IC trains and 3 out of 5 L- and suburban S-trains will run. Only 1 out of 5 peak-hour trains will be in service.

The impact of the strike varies daily. NMBS advises travellers to prepare well by frequently checking the online travel planner. The alternative train service for Monday is already available on the planner. The schedule for Tuesday will be visible from Monday morning.

Railway unions are protesting against budget cuts at NMBS and proposed federal government measures, such as raising the pension age. The Metisp-Protect strike week will be followed by a strike day on 31 March by the railway unions ACOD Spoor and ACV-Transcom, which aligns with a national strike day.
