US far-right activist Laura Loomer has persuaded President Donald Trump to sack several National Security Council staff members, according to US media reports.

Loomer, a known far-right conspiracy theorist, had previously claimed that US intelligence agencies were behind the 9/11 attacks. Now, she has accused Trump’s staff of lacking loyalty to the president, CNN and other sources reported.

After Loomer berated White House staff during a half-hour meeting attended by Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, six employees were dismissed, according to The New York Times. The information came from interviews with eight informed individuals.

The meeting on Wednesday included a list of staff members who, Loomer alleged, were disloyal. Prior to the meeting, some National Security Council members were already reassigned.

The newspaper described the meeting as remarkable, highlighting Loomer’s significant influence over Trump, which appeared to outweigh that of Waltz. Among those dismissed was a senior intelligence officer.

Loomer openly supported Trump during his campaign. She sparked controversy by tweeting that the White House would smell of curry if Kamala Harris won. She also speculated to her 1.5 million followers on X about Joe Biden’s alleged involvement in an attack on Trump.
