The Brussels-Capital Region reported 90,153 registered job seekers at the end of March, according to the regional employment and training service Actiris.
The unemployment rate remained stable at 14.4%, an increase of 0.02 percentage points compared to March 2024.
In March, Actiris recorded 7,908 new entries into unemployment, including 5,861 re-registrations and 2,047 new registrations.
There were 9,602 people who exited unemployment, resulting in a monthly decrease of 1,694 job seekers, or 1.8%.
Of the 90,153 job seekers, 48% are women and 52% are men.
Actiris noted that while the number of job seekers decreased among those with low qualifications by 0.8% (463 people) and those with medium qualifications by 2.9% (545 people) over the past year, it increased by 7% (1,115 people) for those with high qualifications.
