Belgian rights holders earned approximately €34 million from Spotify revenue, representing an 11% increase compared to 2023, Spotify announced on Tuesday in its Loud & Clear report.

The full amount does not go directly to artists. Spotify distributes a portion of its music-related income to rights holders and publishers, who then compensate artists and songwriters based on their individual contracts.

Additionally, Spotify noted that the number of Belgian artists earning more than €10,000 annually from the platform has doubled since 2018.

The number of artists making over €50,000 has tripled in the same period. Female Belgian artists have seen a significant rise in streams over the past four years.

This is the first time Spotify has shared figures specifically about Belgian artists. Previously, Spotify announced that it had paid a record $10 billion (€9.18 billion) to the music industry globally in 2024.

According to the Loud & Clear report, nearly 1,500 artists worldwide earned more than $1 million in royalties from Spotify alone last year.
