The Netherlands will develop educational materials based on the mini-series Adolescence in collaboration with Netflix, reports the Dutch public broadcaster NOS.
The British mini-series tells the story of Jamie, a 13-year-old boy suspected of stabbing a schoolgirl, after being influenced by online misogynist theories, which went unnoticed by his parents.
"Netflix has made the series available to schools, and we will create educational resources from it," the museum spokesperson explained.
"Using excerpts, teachers will be able to engage students in discussions. It’s important for us to talk about the daily lives of young people." A teacher’s guide will accompany the educational materials, which will be available for free on the museum’s website.
The United Kingdom has also announced plans to develop educational materials from the mini-series. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer recently stated that Adolescence should be shown in all schools. Netflix UK has since decided to make the series available for free.
