From the evening of Wednesday 30 April until Sunday 4 May, the Roads and Traffic Agency will carry out resurfacing works on the E40 towards Brussels.

The works will take place between the Steenokkerzeel/Sterrebeek exits and the Sint-Stevens-Woluwe junction.

The agency expects significant disruption and longer waiting times due to the works. Resurfacing is necessary to address track formation caused by heavy goods vehicles on the road surface.

The right lane and the connecting loop to the Brussels Ring Road will be renewed over a length of 2,500 metres.

A milling machine will remove up to 20 centimetres of asphalt, which will then be rebuilt with three layers of asphalt and new markings.

To ensure safety during the works, two lanes will be taken out of service.

The Sterrebeek on-ramp and the exit to the Brussels ring road will also be closed. Traffic towards Brussels will be diverted.

Those coming from the E40 must continue past the junction with the ring road to the on- and off-ramp complex at Gemeenschappenlaan in Evere.

At the Cora roundabout at the Sint-Stevens-Woluwe junction, drivers can rejoin the Brussels ring road.

Traffic from Nossegem intending to reach the ring road should follow Mechelsesteenweg (N227) and the E40 towards Liège.

In Bertem, these drivers must turn around to rejoin the E40 towards Brussels.
