An incident with the overhead lines between Halle and Tourpes has disrupted train traffic on the Brussels-Paris route, according to railway infrastructure manager Infrabel on Tuesday.
Due to the incident, trains are travelling on one track instead of two, which is leading to delays of an estimated 20 to 30 minutes for both national and international trains.
A Eurostar train on the Amsterdam-Paris route is currently stationary near Tubize. Passengers will be able to transfer to another train to continue their journey to the French capital.
Infrabel has sent several teams to the site to determine the cause of the damage and make the necessary repairs.
The incident has further aggravated the train traffic disruption in the country, which was already affected by a national railway strike. Five trade union organisations are striking against measures in the Federal Government coalition agreement.
