What is believed to be the smallest house in Brussels has been put up for sale. The house, which is full of character but is due for renovation, can be bought for just under €200,000.
Real estate agency Trevi has put up a listing for a house in Watermael-Boisfort, to the southeast of the region, considered the most expensive area in Brussels. From the outside, it immediately catches the eye due to its miniature appearance, sandwiched between two larger properties. The facade is barely wider than the door, leaving just enough space for a small postbox.
"Ideally located between the Etangs and the Sonian Forest, at the back of Chaussée de la Hulpe, we present the smallest house in Brussels," the estate agency wrote on its website.
The house is 60m² and is just 2.15 metres wide. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom as well as a living room and kitchen, spread over three floors. "A beautifully landscaped front garden completes the assets. A unique property, ideal for those looking for originality, charm and exception," the property listing reads.
The property is even smaller than what was previously thought to be the smallest house in Brussels, located on Rue du Marché aux Fromages just off the Grand Place.
Buyers who want to boast that they live in the tiniest house in the region will have to fork out €195,000. The real estate agency has made the petite stature a key selling point, though the diminutive abode may be challenging to sell given that it is energy-inefficient and needs to be renovated.
