A strike initiated by the CGSLB union at the TEC depot in Jumet on Tuesday continues this morning and has spread to the Genson depot, the Walloon public transport company announced.
The specifics of the strike, which began after a meeting between company management and the CGSLB, remain unclear.
The action appears to be related to the situation of an employee who has reportedly been sanctioned. The union declined to provide further details when contacted on Tuesday.
The management expressed regret over the impact of an "isolated case" on both passengers and the company’s employees.
This morning, the strike affects the depots in Jumet and Genson, causing a complete halt of the M3 and M4 metro lines in Charleroi.
Over 50 bus lines in the region are also disrupted, including those connecting the centre of Charleroi to the airport.
