Organised in Munich in the run-up to Oktoberfest in Germany, the event features tastings of over 2,000 beers by a jury of 140 experts. The winners were unveiled on Thursday.
Belgium's medal haul was earmarked by four victories. The Oude Gueuze Cuvée René from the Lindemans brewery, the Hellekapelle from the De Bie brewery in the Flemish municipality of Dentergem received gold medals.
Furthermore, La Paix Dieu, from the Hainaut brewery Caulier, was crowned the best triple and the Hapkin, from Alken-Maes, was named the best Belgian-style strong blonde.
